Swimming Pool, Beaches and Things to Do

What's Outside

Grounds for happiness include a peaceful walled garden, summerhouse, fountain, knot garden and summer swimming pool. As kids go crazy on the lawn, the lime-tree walk, old moat and wild-flower meadow offer adults mature reflection.

The heated pool is peacefully positioned within a delightful walled garden with a summer house and fountain and the Elizabethan knot garden smells of lavender.

Beaches

The Hall is set just inland of the North Norfolk Coast, one of the most attractive and unspoilt coastal areas in England.  The nearest beach is at Mundesley, 15 minutes drive away.  To the west there is the vast, pine-wooded Holkham Beach and to the east, the endless and unspoilt Waxham beach. And for everyone, there is the use of a private beach hut, just check for availability.

Things to Do

Set in Norfolk's 'golden triangle', the picturesque Georgian towns of Holt and Burnham Market and the National Trust treasures of Blickling and Felbrigg Hall are all nearby. Within easy reach by car are the seaside villages of Blakeney, Cley and Stiffkey and traditional seaside resort towns of Cromer, Sheringham and Wells.

From Morston you can take seal boat trips, while from Sheringham there are steam train services.  The big skies, open marshes and breathtaking beaches of North Norfolk are magical at any time of the year.

In nearby Aylsham, a miniature steam railway runs to Wroxham, the heart of the Norfolk Broads, from where you can take broad cruises. For eating out there are lots of excellent pubs and restaurants nearby.
