What's Outside
The heated outdoor pool is set in a South facing terrace close to the kitchen, next to the Loggia with tables and chairs for al fresco dining.
The house sits in an elevated position in 8 acres of secluded gardens and paddocks, made up of several lawned areas bordered with flowerbeds. The garden stretches to the east along the line of the entrance drive where the sheep graze in the paddocks overlooking Uley Valley. The River Ewelme runs as a boundary line through the woodland that stretches along the bottom of the garden. The house overlooks a spring fed fountain with water from the stream that runs through the centre of the garden and forms small ponds in various places.
Walking around the grounds is like walking around an aboretum. The main focal point being a magnificent Copper Beech thought to be over 250 years old cornering a lowered patio, with steps leading down to an avenue of yews, a specimen acer and an additional avenue of grand lime trees. A large magnolia shelters the stream on the lower lawn. It is a garden worth exploring at any time of year.
