The area is remarkably easy to reach - the A1 and the A68 are the main trunk roads connecting the Borders with Edinburgh to the north and Newcastle to the south-east, with the A7 providing a link to Carlisle. For those arriving by train, the East Coast Line will provide a wonderfully scenic route to the local station in Berwick-upon-Tweed. The nearest international airports are Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
